One thing many people like to do when they visit London is go to a West End show.

London has the best selection of theatres and high end plays and musicals in the world.  World famous actors regularly perform at the shows.  Nicole Kidman Kevin Spacey Christian Bale Val Kilmer, Rob Lowe and David Schwimmer have all graced London stages recently.

Most of the theatres are situated in the “West End” of the city centre.
Prominent theatre streets include Drury Lane, Shaftesbury Avenue and The Strand.
In this small area are located over 40 theatres. Many of these are of stunning Victorian or Edwardian design.

West End shows run for a varying number of weeks, depending on ticket sales.

The West End has the longest running play  in the world, Agatha Christie’s play The mousetrap has been showing since 1952.
